Week Three: Round as Can Be.
Each week I'm getting looser on my diet - not a good trend. But I'm still primarily sticking with it. Despite what I've eaten or drank earlier in the day, each moment on the scale is minimally 10 lbs. lighter than the first weigh in.
Saturday ended with a good 750mL of red wine (exactly the amount where you wake up and marvel at your purple lips) and a bit o' popcorn - not exactly part of my plan. I did avoid things I love like hot dogs and pizza from Costco (I'm difficult to please, see. . .) and Pad Thai that were being eaten in front of me. I do assure you that it was pure torture.
I did start running. One day. Then stopped. And while soccer is still going strong once a week (just got back, haven't showered, pretty sure I smell like onions), I'm still obviously not at the fitness level I'd like to be. The wrist is still painfully injured - I have a doc appointment on Thursday to have it examined. Whatever the outcome, I'm probably out at least three more weeks of arm work like push-ups, pull-ups, turning door knobs or giving the wifey a massage.
There's a small handful of you that show up to the site daily or at least every few days. Some who have gone the way of the Dodo. Wherever you fall categorically, hope you're doing well on week three (or week 20XX for the newcomers/Mega Man).

"I did start running. One day. Then stopped." LOL I know exactly how you feel. I had a great day at the gym last week and felt so good I rode that high for a week. I've been so busy I haven't been able to go back and won't be able to until this Thursday but I really need to make every day like my one good day at the gym because my eating habits have sure not been making it easy for me to keep the weight down. I am down 5 pounds though! So yay for week 3! Still have time to get to my first goal on graduation day

Re: Week Three: Round as Can Be.
Most of my weeks start off great then, the closer it gets to Saturday, the further off track it goes. I've been focusing more on my exercise than on my diet the past few weeks. I know I need to get that together, but for now I'm just trying to not overwhelm myself by trying to change everything at once again. I think I'll focus on the diet more next week.
My weight hasn't moved (as far as I know), though my "official" weigh-in is in the morning before I start my new job so I can report back then. It's been fluctuating back and forth so I'm kind of curious to see where it will be at. (I think the scale in the bathroom is broken, though, because it gave me some wonky results earlier this week.)
I've done 21 miles total with my dad so far in the past two weeks. He surprised me with running shoes early (yay!) so I got to wear those today. It felt pretty neat to run in better shoes.
I'm currently tracking my runs with the Nike+ app. I love the interface and it posts on Facebook when I start my run so if people like/comment the post then I hear cheering along with my music during the run. The past few times I've gotten cheers as I was almost done so it pushed me to finish.
So far we are just doing walks then brief runs, but I ran a bit more today than I have in the past. It was also in the park with a lot of hills so it felt good to be able to do it. Monday we walked the 3.2 miles with my future sister-in-law, only running a few brief sections. That was in 52 minutes. Today we did the 3.2 miles with a bit more running and completed it in 43 minutes. I consider it a victory!
